    Please complete the jury summons form and bring it with you on the day you report for jury service.

    Reporting for Jury Service 

    You are required to report for jury service unless you:

    1. Claim an exemption
    2. Are disqualified
    3. Request a postponement

    Exemption or Disqualification

    To claim an exemption or disqualification:

    • Complete the back of your summons
    • Sign and date the form
    • Return it to the Kinney County Clerk’s Office or contact the office prior to your report date

    Proper Clothing Required

    All persons entering the courtroom must be dressed appropriately for court proceedings.

    NOT permitted:

    • Shorts
    • Torn or holey jeans
    • Crop tops or midriff tops
    • Sleeveless shirts
    • Flip flops
    • Hats

    Cell Phone Use

    Cell phone use inside the courtroom is prohibited.

    Right to Reemployment

    An employer may not discharge, threaten, intimidate, or penalize an employee for serving jury duty.

    Failure to Respond to Summons

    Failure to comply with a jury summons or knowingly providing false information may result in contempt of court and fines between $100 and $1,000

    (Government Code §62.0141)
