  • On July 5, 2022, Kinney County, Goliad County, Edwards County, Jeff Davis County and Terrell County issued a Local State of Disaster. The underlying purpose of this declaration is twofold.

First, it acknowledges the unprecedented amount of criminal activity occurring as a result of an unsecured border and declares the existence of an “invasion” as stated in Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution and in Article 4, Section 7 of the Texas Constitution.

Second, it requests that the Governor of Texas declare the existence of an invasion on our border and take necessary actions to preserve and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Texas.
